How do you add a voice assistant to your website?

A line of light entering a glass website frame, with a glowing orb waking up in the corner of the site

Setting up a voice assistant with Vocalun takes three steps, none of which need technical skills: you enter your site's address, add the single line you're given to your site, and your visitors can start talking. You don't have to enter your products one by one or write questions and answers; the assistant learns from your site.

1. Enter your site's address

You enter your site's address in the dashboard. Vocalun learns your products and services from your site. When you update your site, the assistant talks with the updated information too.

2. Add the single line to your site

You're given a single line like this:

<script src="https://vocalun.com/a.js" data-asistan="…"></script>

This line goes in the shared section that loads on every page of your site, usually just before the closing </body> tag. If you don't manage your site yourself, just send the line to whoever built it.

  • Sites you or an agency built: in the shared template file, before the closing </body> tag.
  • Website builders and hosted platforms: most have a section called something like "custom code", "add code" or "edit theme code". On some platforms this is only available on certain plans; check your platform's help pages.

3. Your visitors start talking

Once the line is added, the assistant card appears in the corner of your site. Visitors press the button in the corner, ask their question out loud and hear the answer.

Checklist after setup

  1. Open your site: do you see the assistant card and the "AI assistant" label in the corner?
  2. Ask the three questions your customers ask most; do the answers match the information on your site?
  3. Ask the assistant to take you to a product or service page.
  4. Leave a contact note and check whether it shows up in your dashboard.

If an answer is missing or wrong, the cause is usually missing or scattered information on your site. Updating the relevant page fixes the assistant's answer as well.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add it to more than one site?

Yes. Depending on your plan, you can add it to 1 site on Starter, 3 on Professional and 10 on Business.

What do I do if I want to remove the assistant?

Just delete the line you added to your site and the assistant is gone.
